Well, I made a big important step today in my quest to get started sewing again: I went to a quilt shop and bought fabric!!
I bought fabric from the “Bliss” line and the “Origins” line (both from Moda) to made a quilt and pillow shams for my new bedroom. I plan to start working on it tonight. I’m so excited!
In other news, I am settling in well! I love my new apartment. It’s so nice to live on my own. Except for cooking. Cooking for one person seems like a total waste of time to me. So today I have been cooking lots of food and freezing it in small portions. I hope that will help. I have either been eating out (rarely) or not eating at all (often). Neither of these are very healthy options.
I also joined the YMCA today! I am so excited to get back in the gym. I have continued to lose weight, but it has been a lot slower than it was when I was working out regularly. I am going to start tomorrow.
And last but not least, I have a job! It’s a temp job, just through Christmas, but it’s so nice to be earning something again. After Christmas I am planning to go back to school. I’m excited about that as well
I hope to have pictures of my new project to show you soon!!
Congrats on moving "forward" on all fronts. You've mad a lot of changes and are moving forward in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteI love both Bliss and Origins but don't think they will go together too well for your bedroom . But what do I know. ;) Sounds like you are settling in.
ReplyDeleteYou bought more fabric? how did you go so long without?!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've joined the Y--now you need a buddy☺ I still haven't gone--it's just not the same without you!
Good for you! Glad things are going well.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on moving forward! I find cooking for myself never really happens, if I can't eat what I make everyone else I pretty much just don't, not healthy I know but meh. I'm thinking I should start making and freezing too.
ReplyDeleteit is so good to hear that you are settling in and starting your new life.
ReplyDeleteGood for you...enjoy your stitching and your new life!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear things are looking up! Great to have a job to. You never know where things might lead!
ReplyDeleteSounds like things a moving along. Where did you go for fabric shopping? Going back to school? for what?
ReplyDeleteJennie, sounds like you are doing very well! Good idea about cooking ahead and freezing your meals in small portions. If you don't eat well, you won't have the energy to sew and what a shame that would be! :-) You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteYou are so busy and doing all the right things! Great job! I too need to get into more exercise and cooking for one is for the birds! Either I eat like one or I go crazy!
ReplyDeleteSchool...what a great choice....what career field?
Glad to read that you are getting started in doing some of the things you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHi, Jennie! Just want to thank you for the nice comment you made on my "Breaking Out" flying geese block. Your tutorial made all the difference. (I'm commenting here because I'm having issues with my keyboard and Flickr). Thanks again!
