Storms

Yesterday (5/14/14) we had some storms come through our area. They really didn't look like much of a big deal on radar. Some heavy rain, some lightning. Meh.

Oh no.

These storms got BAD in a hurry.

Very bad.

The county just south of where I live was hit with flooding like no one around here has ever seen. The next town over from mine was hit by a possible microburst, causing significant damage.

Here are some photos I took while chasing these storms….

This is the storm that hit Canandaigua, Shortsville and Manchester. Right now it is about 30 miles away.

This storm hit Geneva. It was isolated from the rest. And extremely photogenic!

Some people think a tornado touched down from this storm. I caught this- I don't know what it is, it was too far away for me to see if it was rotating or not.

The storm is intensifying at this point. This was in Bloomfield, NY

Lightning from the storm.

Another lightning shot

The lightning was very intense with this storm.

The damage from this storm was quite severe, with buildings collapsing and several houses getting washed away by flood waters. Miraculously, no one was killed or seriously injured.
