My quilt for the festival isn't spectacular. It isn't cutting edge, or modern, or even my own pattern. But it is my very favorite quilt- the one I reach for when I am tired, sad, cold, watching a movie, or just want a hug :)
This is my Peace and Serenity quilt. The pattern is from Anka's Treasures and the fabrics are mixture of Shangri-La by Moda and Winsome from Benartex. I absolutely love the calmness of this quilt! This quilt has the nickname "my bamboo blankie" because it was the first quilt I used 50/50 bamboo/cotton batting in. I really like it- it's thin but warm, and it has a beautiful drape!
I also used my embroidery machine to make a label for this quilt! I enjoy playing with all the fonts in the software :)
Happy Blogger's Quilt Festival everyone!!

It's a beautiful quilt! I like it too! :0)
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics is this quilt are awesome! So calming. It looks so soft and squishy! Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is very calming!! I really like the label. I am inheriting an embroidery machine from my grandma who passed away this month and never thought it could be used to make such cool labels. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful and very calming! Great label!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful quilt (no need to apologize for anything!!!) and it obviously means a great deal to you. Perfect for sharing in the quilt festival! I'm getting worried about the whole 'modern' quilt blogging movement preventing people from celebrating gorgeous quilts that don't necessarily have Kona snow or charcoal backgrounds. They all take our time and love to create...they're all worth celebrating. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteClimbing off soapbox now :)

It's beautiful! And yep, very peaceful looking with the soft colors.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! The colors ARE so peaceful and serene.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt. I love the serene and calming feeling that radiates from it.
ReplyDeleteI adore the colour combination. Very beautiful indeed. Alot of the best quilts aren't the most cutting edge or up-to-the-minute modern. Most are beautiful in their own way.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt - very peaceful and welcoming. And all quilts are beautiful in their own way - each quilt is different, like people! No need to explain or apologize for loving one!
ReplyDeleteI see why it is your favorite, the colors and pattern are just very cozy and comforting. I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh! Very beautiful! I really need to get on the ball and finish a quilt! I have so many unfinished ones! Do you only use the 50/50 batting now?
ReplyDelete..I am off today from work, so will hopefully get to some others on the quilt fest. I have some drawing orders to work on and of course, cleaning house... Now that our children are grown and my hubby and I are empty nesters, I can't be a "stay at home mom", but I would love to be a stay at home wife :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
If you have a moment to come over, please let me know by leaving a comment at my post. It was fun meeting you! If you dont mind me asking...what type of sewing machine do you use?
