AmandaJean over at Crazy Mom Quilts blogged about her workspace, and asked others to do the same! So, here's mine... it's a mess, but that's normal!
My machine- I look out over my yard, across the highway and into the woods- it's a lovely view, really, and a great thing to have when I need to look up from my work and relax my eyes!
My little room overall- the curtains are folded up because it's very windy today, and they were blowing out over my sewing machine! This is a 6' by 10' room right next to the kitchen. The previous owners used it as a breakfast nook. It's a nice little space, and as you can see, I've packed it full!
I like having it right near the kitchen- I can get in little bits of sewing while pots boil and cookies bake!
This dresser is part of the bedroom set I inherited from my grandparents. It doesn't really fit in our bedroom, so now it's full of fabric, with fabric stacked on top! Hubby put hooks into the backs of the kitchen cabinets, and that's where I hang all my rulers.
My ironing table and shelves. I LOVE my ironing table- it's SO much nicer than a little board! It's a 4' banquet table, and I bought a kit a long time ago that had a very thick piece of batting, and a piece of canvas-like material for the cover! I bring it with me to retreats, too, for everyone to use. It's very popular :)
The shelves that Hubby put up for me- these shelves hold a LOT, and I've got them packed pretty full :)
My cutting area. It's a 6' banquet table in the family room. It's just across from my sewing room, separated by the garage and basement doors.
I also have a Pfaff Grand Quilter with the Inspira frame in my spare bedroom. And bins of fabric down in the basement. My hand quilting hoop and supplies are in the living room. I've pretty much taken over the house with my quilting, really :)
PS- I made the curtains you see in these pictures with fabric from a collection called "A Day In The Country". It was by Fig Tree Quilts, and it's from a few years ago.
