I've been *trying* to work on a couple different quilt projects this week. I say trying because nothing has been going right! It's been really aggravating. So I decided to set them both aside and do something quick, easy and fun!
A while ago I saw a book by Susan Breier called "It's A Wrap". The book is about making baskets and purses from clothesline wrapped with fabric! I've since seen it all over the internet, and I was intrigued.
So, I pulled out some ingredients...
Fabrics are from the "Flutterby" collection by Tula Pink. They were on clearance at my favorite LQS!
And got to work!! About 6 hours later, I had this! All done- doesn't need quilting or binding or anything.. it's a completely done project!
Hubby decided it looked like a hat.
It does look surprisingly good :)

Hi Jennie! That basket is just too cute! I've been wanting to try doing something like that, but haven't yet. One of these days! Not so sure I like it as a hat though :)

The basket is great! I have seen it before at the Dekalb County Quilt Show. I would love to make some too, I am just afraid that my machine would not like it.;)
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to come tonight, I have spent all yesterday in bed warming up by back, something is wrong and I don't know what - nerve or something..I hope next time I could come. Have fun!
I love making these baskets....I also have seen purses that are awesome made the same way.....
