Quilting The Quilt

3 (or 4?) years ago I purchased a Pfaff GrandQuilter with the Inspira frame. I love this setup, it makes it SO easy to quilt the quilt! It's set up in our spare bedroom. I cleaned this room yesterday (it was a MESS!!) and took the bed apart so I would have more space to work with. It's still in there, leaning up against the wall. We very rarely have overnight guests, and if we do it will take about 10 minutes to set the bed up again!

The other reason I love this setup so much? One word: pantograph. I can put a pattern on the shelf and follow it with a laser pointer! Love it- it's kind of like playing a video game :)

Here's the pantograph...

Together with the quilt...

Ready to start the next row!

It's a twin size quilt. I'll post about it when I have it all done (binding and everything).

I quilted it from start to finish this afternoon (yet another reason I love this setup!) and got the binding sewn to the front. There was a quilt already loaded on it- I finished that one this morning and got the binding sewn to the front of it. So I have a lot of hand sewing to keep me busy in the evenings, too!

  1. I'm so jealous! It takes me weeks to quilt a quilt. Sadly, I don't have anywhere to set up such a frame. Wish I did though. Can't wait to see both quilts. Happy 4th July! Ann :)

  4. Here it is! So glad that you owned this sets of Pfaff.... I want to know more about the pros and cons of this combinations. Have googled the model but could not get the information in reality and how easy it is for you to use it. Please if you don't mind.... cos have the intention to get just the frame (the sewing machine is available here in Malaysia).Thanks.
