Yep! I am finished organizing the sewing room (I know, I can hear you all saying "about freakin' time, Jen!")!!! YAY!!! I am so happy with it.
The top shelf is mostly fabrics that are intended for specific projects, placed together so I can keep track of them. The last 1/3 is miscellaneous bolts that I couldn't fit on top of the dresser! The pile in the middle of the bottom shelf is my insane purchase of the "Cider Mill Road" line by Nancy Halvorsen.
The top of the dresser turned into my "color wall". I took all the bolts, divided them by color, and placed them according to the old "Roy G. Biv" rainbow order!

The bookcase is fabrics that are part of the same collection that I wanted to keep together.
The room as a whole! The top on my ironing table was found wadded up in a ball at the bottom of a box of fabric. Don't say it, I'm already cringing! It's all ready to be quilted. I have no idea why I threw it in a box instead of finishing it! But it's out now, and I have the backing and binding and everything, so I'll get it done.
And this is my cutting/work area! It's across the "hall" from my sewing room, because of where the garage and basement doors are placed. On the shelf in front are my batiks and homespuns. They were the smallest groups of fabric, so I put them in a separate place... there was no room for them anywhere else! Under my cutting table are the fabrics I know are intended to be backs of quilts, there are about 20 pieces there. It took about 400 bolts to accomplish this. And there is still more fabric (although not much) in the basement! I know what's in the box down there, though, and I have no room for it up here now.
So, there is it! I am so happy with it! I really feel like it is now a place I can create in, instead of a place to be avoided because it's such a mess. Now, to keep it this way...!
